Funny seeing you here ;) I cannot believe we have come to the 5 year anniversary of “What’s Left Unsaid”! This record was made in a time of so much uncertainty, and music was my way of finding some normality in my life. Coming off of two back to back projects, I really wanted to take a step away to wait for the music to come to me, but the world had some other plans. “What’s Left Unsaid” was a record that really challenged me. I wanted to up my production skills, my songwriting abilities and take my music to another level. The pandemic gave me the room to do that.
I spent almost every waking hour in my home studio. I have endless libraries of beats that were made in that time period, and I still pull inspiration from songs I began in that era. I directed a three part music video that I made with all of my friends. I worked with so many amazing people to help bring this specific moment of my life to you.
This was the last record I made before I graduated high school, and I think it sums up exactly who I was in that moment; a 17 year old kid who was too afraid to speak his mind, so he sang it instead. I remember be terrified for some of these songs to come out, because I had ventured into some very uncharted territory. However, you embraced this record so wholeheartedly, and I will forever be grateful for that. This record was the first time I heard my song on the radio. It was the first time I was asked to perform a headline show. It was the first record of mine to surpass 100,000 streams.
To thank you for the love you showed this record, I’m releasing a special Live in Studio recording of “My Worth” that I recorded back in 2021. That song has always meant so much to me, and I hope you enjoy this recording from 5 years ago. Thank you for sticking with me. I love you.
